The purpose of the trip was to learn first-hand about the difficulties facing Sudanese who fled the violence of their homeland, from their experience with persecution in Egypt, where some of their companions were killed, to their now uncertain future in Israel.The program will feature first-hand accounts of the Sudanese refugee experience, an overview and assessment from a legal expert who has represented refugees of many nationalities in Israel, and updates on NGOs and humanitarian efforts.

Simon Deng, a New York-Based Sudan Activist
Tally Kritzman, is a Hauser Research Scholar at New York University School of Law. Kritzman has been a part of the Refugee Rights Clinic in Tel Aviv.
Hard copies of the SSVF Israel Fact-Finding Report ("A Voice for the Voiceless") will be provided.
- The Institute on Religion and Democracy and the Center for Religious Freedom of Hudson Institute recently held a second symposium on Sudan. The discussion centered on the continuation of violence in Sudan and the continued violations of the now two-year-old Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) by the National Congress Party.
